As the future of transportation becomes more electric, power electronics will be a key enabler. MBRDNA’s Powertrain and eDrive Division in Redford, Michigan exists at the cutting edge of high-voltage power electronics technology for EVs.
Meet Dr. Agasthya Ayachit who joined our HV Systems and eMobility team at Redford as a High-Voltage Systems Engineer in 2018. Today, he and his team are constantly exploring the latest research and ideas in power electronics coming out of North American universities and industries. Agasthya’s current focus is on technologies that enhance the power density and the efficiency of the electric drive. He believes that wide bandgap semiconductors such as silicon carbide and gallium nitride and innovative power conversion stages are vital for bettering the electric mileage and performance of our future EVs. Agasthya also co-authors with his university and industry collaborators many technical articles on the topic of power electronics and encourages his team to do the same in order to advance the current state of the art.
