A deep understanding of the user experience is an essential step in designing great vehicles and mobility services.

In order to design the best products, we must put the customer at the heart of our research.

We approach innovation from both a top-down and bottom-up perspective. The Society & Technology Research Group uses macro-trend analysis to forecast future customer needs and highlight market opportunities. The User Experience Research & Innovation team engages personally with customers to ensure that their insights are reflected in product design.

Listening to customer feedback drives the next generation of vehicles

We offer customer-centered research that supports Mercedes-Benz in developing industry-leading products and services.

The User Experience Research & Innovation team uses a wide range of methods to incorporate user insights and feedback throughout the design process for passenger and commercial vehicles.

User insights from the global Online Survey Panel, observations, and interviews give birth to new concepts that support user needs. From there, we refine the concepts and designs with user feedback including usability testing of prototypes with advanced tools like driving simulators, stress detection wristbands, and eye trackers.

A single research participant can contribute dozens of insights based on her unique experiences. Each insight is thoroughly reviewed and transformed into action items.
